A New Take On Valentines Day Roses

It’s Valentines Day Week, which means “Love and Cupid’s arrows are in the air” 🥰

PSA: wooden roses never die and they are just as gorgeous as normal roses 🌹 🥀 They are also more affordable than freshly cut roses. They make a for great home décor, mess free may I add. There is no need to take care of them or water them (my favorite part).

You can’t tell they are made completely of wood in the photo above. They come in all colors and varieties. If you are looking for a unique gift for VDay, I suggest looking into “forever roses” (aka wood roses).

    Brunch in a Snow Globe

We got nice and cozy in a snow globe for brunch this morning at @cafegalleriamidwaypizza ❄️

The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere was AMAZING! The drive up the canyon was AMAZING!

If you are ever in Utah and you find yourself close to Heber, go to Café Galleria in Midway. Their pizza is THE best pizza around! And as an avid pizza connoisseur, I can say that with complete confidence.

Also, to keep warm in the winter I LOVE color block sweaters! Click here for a link to some of my favorites.

*Not an ad, we genuinely like the place. So much so that we have been back multiple times!*

    Dinner & A Walk Through A Garden

Everyone knows that dinner and a movie is always a good go-to type of date. Covid-19 has made going to the movies a bit difficult, so we put a spin on dinner and movie and changed it to dinner and a walk through a garden!

Going for a walk after dinner together is a great way to deep dive into the conversations you were having during eating. It also makes it “golden hour” when you are exploring the garden.
We went to Freddy Burger’s and then to the Sego Lily Gardens. It was a perfect weekday date, because it didn’t take too long. It is not a hike that takes all day, it is just a nice leisurely walk!

If you can’t make it to a garden, you can take a walk around the neighborhood! It is a good year round type of date, because it’s great in the warm weather of summer and it’s beautiful looking at everyone’s holiday lights in the winter.

You can find out more about the Sego Lily Gardens in Sandy, Utah by looking at their website: http://sego-lily-gardens.edan.iohttp://sego-lily-gardens.edan.io

Get A Little Mud On Those Tires

This might not be for everyone but….Off roading is always a fun adventure date to go on!

Driving on dirt roads and getting mud everywhere is a day well spent. It beats sitting on the couch watching a movie! There are a million trails out there for all types of vehicles. Even if it is just a ride up the canyon to see the amazing views.

Yes, we have gotten my Jeep stuck before, and yes I have had to leave it on the side of a mountain over night and get some help pulling it off the mountain (that is a story for another time). But you can’t call yourself a Jeep owner if you have never gotten stuck before and everything turned out fine. It is something fun and adventurous that doesn’t cost much except for gas money, but if you went somewhere else you would be paying for gas plus what ever the activity is.

All I am saying is get out there and explore new territory, you will be surprised at the views and how fun off roading is!

    Ice Castles

Ice Castles has come a long way since they first started doing it. At the beginning it was small and not as exciting. Now they have ice slides, characters such as Disney’s Frozen Cast show up and there is so much more to see now! It is a little on the pricy side…but in the winter there isn’t much to do in the cold nights.

Ice Castles are in Heber, UT and they tend to get bigger and better every year. You walk through a huge maze like thing made of ice. EVERYWHERE you look and EVERYTHING you tough is ICE! It is way cool to walk through and super pretty to look at. It make for cute pictures, so I suggest going with a group or on a double date at least so you can take photos of each other.

When you buy tickets online they make you pick a time window of when you will be showing up. It helps them regulate how many people go in at a time. There are A LOT of people all over the place when you do get in. It is somewhat hard to get a photo without anyone in it, unless you wait in line at the “Photo Perfect Spots.”

Ice Castles is definitely something I would suggest people do as a winter date night, if you can bare the cold that is. Make sure to look into it this winter!

Bear River Lodge – Annual Snowmobiling Day Trip

We found a deal that was too good to pass up at Bear River Lodge! The resort was having a deal going on that you could buy a group of “5 tickets” for $500. Turns out they do this almost EVERY YEAR! Each ticket lets you rent a machine for a day (snowmobiles, four-wheelers, side by sides, ect.). Right when we opened the email we texted some friends and asked if they wanted in on the deal and of course they said YES! We invited four additional friends to come snowmobiling and we rented 3 two-person snowmobiles. That meant it was $50 each for a whole day of snowmobiling, which is an amazing deal! (We kept two tickets for ourselves that we plan to use this summer for ATV rentals) We planned a Saturday that worked for everyone in January and packed up our snow gear then headed on the long drive at 6:00am. We all mostly slept on the way up except for the driver.

I am not a huge fan of snowmobiles, the first time my boyfriend took me out on one he rolled it on us and got it stuck for half the day in the snow. It wasn’t all that fun…but this time it was a blast and I am learning to love snowmobiling!

We turned it into a group date thing which made it even more fun! We took off on trails and we all took turns driving them/riding them around. It was a perfect day, it lightly snowed and the only thing that got cold were my toes. Thank goodness for the warming hut they have on the trail. We went there to eat some snacks and warm up before riding around again.

Bear River Lodge is the perfect place for snowmobiling. They have a bunch of different trails, beautiful scenery and we walked to a frozen waterfall that was pretty cool!

    Pumpkin Nights

It’s Spooky Season! All I think about all year long is Fall. Fall dates are my favorite kind of dates! Last year was our first year attending Pumpkin Nights in Salt Lake City. It was a fun Fall date night idea!

You walk though a maze like trail and everywhere you look, and I mean everywhere, there are carved pumpkins. Although they are not real pumpkins, they still look cool. They are plastic pumpkins that are still hand carved and lit up, if they did real pumpkins they wouldn’t last the whole time Pumpkin Nights is open. Real pumpkins would start to sag and look gross, not to mention smell gross also…They had fire dancers and food trucks, plenty of hot coco and coffee that you can take on your long stroll. There was a projector movie playing that you could watch while you ate your food, as well. It was all the makings of a perfect Fall/Halloween date. It is very family friendly and not scary. (If you are looking for a scary haunted house I suggest Asylum 49 in Tooele, Utah)

Like I said, it was a fun Fall date night. Worth going to at least once! Even though the pumpkins are not real, the sites are still breathtakingly cool. Every inch and corner in Pumpkin Nights is photo worthy.

The bests time to get tickets is when they first go on sale or when they post about them on their social media accounts: Instagram and Facebook. They give you discount codes that are well worth it throughout the whole time Pumpkin Nights is going on. So if you are interested in going this year or next year, I suggesting giving them a follow!
